Atul’s journey began with theatre in his hometown, Patna.

 

He received a 2 year scholarship to pursue theatre in 2005-2007 from Ministry of Culture, GOI where he learned in depth how to channelise his ideas as an evocative storyteller.

 

Having assisted Amit Sharma, Hemant Bhandari & Bhawna Talwar on multiple Digital & TVC Campaigns as well as feature films like “Heidi Queen of the Mountains”and “Badhaai Ho", he began his writing journey with "Maidaan", an acclaimed biopic where he co-wrote the screenplay with Amit Sharma.

 

He now embarks on his directorial journey, as he brings his keen observations and slice of life approach to the table. His strength lies in crisp narratives and identifying the quirks of heartland India.
